Here I am painting from life in Frederick MD, and was taught how to paint like this 28 years ago from my high school art teacher Walter Bartman. I presently rent an art studio in Frederick, at 10 North Market Street. I chose this town because I love to paint it's aesthetically rich and visually interesting forms of "historic" architecture. Below are two recent examples of "plein air" Frederick landscapes.

| My other manner of working is painting from photos I've taken on location. I started doing this in 1990 while living and painting in Barcelona, Spain. These works are done exclusively in the studio and tend to be much larger and slightly different in style from my life paintings. See example below and more at Urban Landscapes.
